At just 12 and 13 years old, the young musicians of National Children’s Orchestras’ Under 13 Orchestra are some of the UK’s most remarkable young musicians, and their creativity, skill, resilience, determination and flair is truly impressive.
Following on from the wonderful success of our Main Orchestra’s family concert here at Bristol Beacon in April, we are pleased to now present our Under 13 Orchestra for Bristol audiences this August.
This concert is the culmination of Under 13 Orchestra’s final residential of 2024, following their week-long summer residential of rehearsals, artist workshops, creative work and wellbeing sessions. Conducted by Matthew Quinn, our Under 13 Orchestra will perform their There’s no Planet B, environmentally themed programme:
Leonard Bernstein Slava
Jean Sibelius Finlandia
Rachel Portman Endangered
Gustav Holst 'Jupiter' from The Planets
Hans Zimmer Earth
Benjamin Britten 'Dawn' and 'Storm' from Peter Grimes
Debbie Wiseman Carnival of the Endangered Animals
