We're amazed by how fast this year is flying by - it's just under 9 weeks until our first Summer Concert takes place!
During July and August, our 6 national orchestras will meet for their residential courses. The children will work tirelessly with the brilliant support of conductors, music tutors and social staff to help them bring out the best of their talents.
Our public concerts kick off on Saturday 30 July (7pm), when Main Orchestra will make its performance debut at Preston Guild Hall. Prepare to be astounded as some of the nation's most talented young musicians - along with their Guest Conductor, Natalia Luis-Bassa - perform a captivating programme including the works of Bernstein and Prokofiev. See here for further information and tickets.
It will then be the turn of our Under 13 Orchestra to take to the stage on Saturday 13 August (7pm). Leeds Town Hall will once again support the 114 enthusiastic young musicians and NCO's Artistic Director and Principal Conductor, Roger Clarkson, in an extraordinary performance of works featuring Gershwin and Saint-Saëns. See here for further information and how to buy tickets online.
The final public performance of the summer will come when Under 12 Orchestra delight audiences at Town Hall Birmingham on Saturday 20 August (6pm). Roger Clarkson will conduct the hugely talented youngsters, as they perform a repertoire of classical favourites including Tchaikovsky's unforgettable Nutcracker Suite and Badelt's swashbuckling Pirates of the Caribbean.
