It’s just over ten weeks until our spectacular Spring Concerts, but preparations are well underway and tickets are now on sale! So clear your diaries and make room for the first NCO performances of the year, given by our brand new Main and Under 13 Orchestras.
On Saturday 9 April, NCO makes a welcome return to Bristol’s Colston Hall (7pm). Our Main Orchestra will perform an iconic programme full of flavour and character. With universally celebrated Guest Conductor Natalia Luis-Bassa at the helm, it promises to be an unforgettable evening of celebrations, suitable for all the family!

Xavier Raynes, a Main Orchestra Bassoonist, is entering his final year of NCO before he ‘retires’ in December: “I’m delighted that I will have the opportunity to play at the Colston Hall - I have been here many times, so performing on the stage will be a special experience!”

An afternoon of youthfully exuberant and technically brilliant music is in store when the Under 13 Orchestra performs at The Anvil, Basingstoke, on Sunday 10 April (3pm). Under the baton of NCO’s very own Roger Clarkson, this hundred strong orchestra - with no player older than 13 - is sure the reignite a passion for classical music and astound audiences with their passionate and mature playing.

Under 13 Orchestra Bassoonist, Emily Ambrose, has been in NCO for the last four years. Emily says:
“It has been amazing to play in a full symphony orchestra and make great friends with children my own age. I’m looking forward to playing at The Anvil as it’s so close to home, which means that more of my friends and family are able to come along. We have some really great pieces to perform so I hope lots of people will come and listen!”
