Whether you are new to NCO or a returning member, we were really looking forward to inviting you to an audition this autumn. Sadly things have now changed. Due to the threat posed by COVID-19, NCO has made the difficult decision to postpone all face-to-face activity until 2021. This includes residencies, concerts and the auditions tour. In lieu of a cancelled year for our current members, we have also decided to freeze and rollover the 2020 membership to 2021. This means that the majority of members who have a place in NCO now, will retain their seat for next year. As with everything at the moment, this is a changing situation and we will be monitoring the advice and guidelines from governing bodies to ensure that all NCO activity is set out with the health and wellbeing of our children and staff as its top priority.
We may need to hold auditions to fill spaces in our youngest orchestra (aged 7-9), and there may be other opportunities to audition for spaces across all ages too. That will depend on how many of our current members are able to stay with us next year. Any changes we make to the audition processes will be updated on the website accordingly and communicated to this auditions mailing list.
