We are relieved and very grateful to have been awarded a grant from the third round of the Government's Culture Recovery Fund.
This Culture Recovery Fund grant will enable NCO to recover some of it's Covid-related losses and to commit to a new year of membership and our return to in-person activity with confidence.
More than £100 million has been awarded to hundreds of cultural organisations across the country, including NCO, in the latest round of support from the Culture Recovery Fund, the Culture Secretary announced.
Sophie Lewis, NCO Chief Executive & Catherine Arlidge, NCO Artistic & Educational Director said:
"We are relieved and hugely grateful to the Arts Council of England and DCMS for this grant from the Culture Recovery Fund. There is a long way to go before we (and other organisations) recover from the very challenging impacts of the pandemic, but we are so excited to be returning very soon to in-person music making and the incredible impact it has on the lives of the children in our membership and their families.
We can now look ahead to a new year, with confidence and renewed possibilities to champion excellence, diversity, creativity, child voice and wellbeing, all of which are at the centre of our commitment to young musicians."
NCO is enormously grateful to all of our supporters who enabled our survival and the great success of our online programmes in 2020 and 2021. They are:
- Arts Council England for a grant in the 2nd round of the Culture Recovery Fund
- Garfield Weston Foundation
- The Linder Foundation
- The Leverhulme Trust
- The Cecil King Memorial Foundation
- ABRSM
- And all the Patrons, Friends and NCO member families who continued to support us in many ways, including donating to our fundraising appeal.
