Today it was announced that NCO will be extending its Webinar series - and the next set of guest artists will be Berlin Philharmonic stars, Sarah Willis and Jonathan Kelly.
Since the UK lockdown began, NCO has enjoyed hosting online sessions on Zoom for the young musicians in our senior orchestras. They were invited to take part in two Q&A sessions with saxophonist Jess Gillam and cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason, and last Friday they participated in an interactive wellbeing webinar led by specialists Tom Taffinder and Sarah Upjohn. All three webinars are now available to view here for a limited time.
As the UK lockdown continues, we are able to offer more webinars. NCO has taken the decision to make future webinars open to all members of in NCO, to ensure that no child goes without accessing the inspiring, engaging and fun content we have become associated with.
The next webinar will feature Berlin Philharmonic's stars - horn player Sarah Willis and oboist Jonathan Kelly. NCO's Artistic and Educational Director will join them in a conversation on Friday 24 April to discuss life in a professional orchestra, their top tips and advice for young musicians and hearing how lockdown has shaped their daily routines.
Sarah has been busy taking the online world by a horn storm with her Horn Challenges, Horn Hangouts and presenting the Berlin Phil’s digital concert hall. Jonathan, formerly the Principal Oboe with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, joined the Berlin Phil in 2003. He is also visiting professor at the Royal Academy of Music in London.
