There's no place like NCO!

National Children’s Orchestras of Great Britain is set to unveil a new musical composition, No Place Like… NCO, at the Anvil (Basingstoke) on Sunday 15 April

Under 13 Orchestra will present a new piece of music written by members during their spring residency. The young musicians will be supported by composer John Webb, to create an instrumental response to Kerry Andrew’s a cappella choral work, No Place Like, part of the BBC Ten Pieces repertoire.

Andrew’s piece draws its inspiration from BBC Ten Pieces students who completed a literary exercise to write about their homes. In a similar vein, the Under 13 Orchestra will use their experience in NCO to create No Place Like… NCO which represents those unique emotions.

The creative composition project offers a brand new opportunity for NCO musicians and a catalyst for the future creative development of all our brilliant orchestras.
