October marks Free Wills Month, a will writing campaign which is supported by national charities.
This month, individuals and couples aged 55 and over are given the opportunity to have their simple wills written or updated free of charge by using participating solicitors in selected locations around England, Scotland and Wales.
The campaign is supported by a number of well-known charities including Dogs Trust, NSPCC and the Royal British Legion. The solicitor will help to draw up a Will that accurately reflects the wishes of the individual or couple.
Those taking up the offer are under no obligation to leave a gift to one of the Free Wills Month charities; so if you have been considering leaving a gift in your will to NCO, please take a look at the official website to find your local participating solicitor.
Making a will is one of the most important ways we can look after our loved ones once we’re no longer around. By leaving a gift to NCO, you could ensure that a charity close to your heart will be looked after too.
NCO recently launched a new legacy scheme - the 1978 Association - during Remember a Charity Week. The scheme is named to commemorate the year in which NCO was founded by the late Vivienne Price MBE. Anyone who indicates that they intend to leave NCO a gift in their will is automatically enrolled as a member of NCO’s 1978 Association.
The 1978 Association recognises alumni of the orchestras, their families and NCO supporters everywhere, who wish to support the future of NCO by leaving a gift in their will.
