It has been announced that singers from Guildhall School of Music and Drama will perform with NCO this spring.
As part of the Scene to Be Believed programme - a concert inspired by folk tales - Carmen Artaza (Mezzo) and Samantha Clarke (Soprano) will perform alongside the NCO Main Orchestra at The Anvil on Sunday 14 April. Their talents will help to bring a selection of beautiful scenes to life.
The concert opens with a focus on European fairy tales. Audiences can expect to hear excerpts from Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel, Rossini’s Cinderella story, La Cenerentola and Dvořák’s Rusalka. In the second half, the orchestra will perform Rimsky-Korsakov’s epic symphonic suite, Scheherazade.
Also joining the young stars is conductor Dominic Wheeler, Head of Opera at the Guildhall School. These engagements come as part of NCO’s new partnership with GSMD.
