Over one thousand young musicians have applied for a space in NCO 2017, and we cannot wait to meet them all – starting on 2 October at Cardiff’s Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama where we will be holding our first audition of 2016.
Three audition teams – made up of one steward and two adjudicators – will be travelling up and down the country as they visit 37 audition venues in 30 days. Lola, the NCO van, will of course be making special appearances on the tour, so head to @ncogb on Twitter and use #lolalookout to let us know if you spot us on your travels!
We're in particular need of applications from for viola players, double bassists, tuba players and harpists. If you know a young musician aged 13 (age on 31 Dec 2016) or under who plays the viola, double bass, tuba or harp, please encourage them to take a look at our website and consider applying for an NCO audition.
Don't forget that we're still taking applications for ALL orchestral instruments so if you know someone who might like to apply, please encourage them to do so ASAP.
We can’t wait to meet the next generation of young classical musicians.
Good luck to everybody auditioning!
