Are you interested in helping children develop their musical potential?  We’re looking for an experienced fundraiser in the arts or educational sector to join our committed and professional team!

NCO wishes to appoint a permanent fundraiser to work with the Acting Executive Director, Carrie Sage, to develop a sustainable fundraising base which will support NCO’s life-changing work into the future. Our mission is to perpetuate the vision and dynamism of NCO, ensuring that it continues to reach the best young musicians in the UK, nurture their early talent and develop the professional musicians and music-lovers of tomorrow.

As a charity which presently receives no government subsidy, NCO fundraises every year to cover 50% of its operating costs and 100% of the financial support and bursaries it offers to ensure that every child awarded a place can take part.

You will be responsible for:

·         Refining and developing NCO’s 3-5 year fundraising strategy, increasing income over time and providing a strong ROI

·         Leading fundraising relationships and activities with trusts and foundations, private individuals and corporates, encompassing core and specific (mainly bursary) fundraising

·         Establishing over time a sustainable fundraising base with long term sources of income

·         Developing untapped or new potential sources of support

We would like you to have:

·         5 years+ experience in charity fundraising in the arts or educational sector

·        A successful track record in meeting annual fundraising targets

·         Successfully implemented a long term, broadly based and sustainable fundraising strategy which met set objectives

·         Expertise in researching, identifying and developing contacts and donor relationships, and the ability to draw up compelling engagement materials which perpetuate the aims and ethos of NCO

·         Ease and fluency in communicating with and presenting to potential donors at all levels of seniority, and a track record of successfully closing a ‘pitch’

NCO is an equal opportunities employer.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the children we work with and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

This post will be offered subject to appropriate DBS certification.

Application is by CV and covering letter to the same address. Deadline: Friday 28 October.
