The NCO Board has announced that Roger Clarkson is to leave NCO.
Roger, Artistic and Education Director, has contributed many years of extraordinary dedication to NCO and we are hugely indebted to him for his inspiring work with generations of young musicians. We look forward to working with him in the future and to welcoming him back as a guest conductor.
Many children in current NCO membership will have known Roger from previous years, and we would like to ask parents and teachers for their support in explaining this news to children or students, and in reassuring them that they can look forward to a wonderful time playing music with their friends this spring and summer.
If you feel your child would benefit from sending a card for Roger to the office, please encourage them to do so – they would be most welcome. Please mark the outside of the envelope "Card for Roger" and send to NCO-GB, 57 Buckingham Road, Weston-super-Mare, North Somerset, BS24 9BG.
A message from the NCO Board of Trustees:
“All associated with NCO owe Roger an enormous debt of gratitude for his contribution to NCO’s work to date and his care of generations of the UK’s youngest musicians.
NCO makes a unique and vital contribution to the training and development of our youngest and most gifted musicians, and is refreshing its musical and educational mission. We look forward to continuing to provide many more transformational experiences for NCO members and world-class concerts to showcase their talents.
We will shortly begin the process of recruiting Roger’s successor. An announcement will be made in due course.”
